Spend your weekend in Fountain Hills and immersing yourself in the artistry and cultural traditions of more than 100 Native American artists, Arizona Artisans, and entertainers at on January 26th-28th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Explore the traditional and contemporary Native American art, authentic food, and a variety of world-champion hoop-dancing performances.
The featured artist is Jesse Hummingbird, a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation, whose acrylic paintings are influenced by Cherokee and other American Indian themes. Hummingbird has won several awards at regional and national Native American Art shows.
Native Spirit led by Brian Hammill of the Ho-Chunk Nation will perform a traditional hoop dances. He is an accomplished hoop dancer and is ranked among the top 10 hoop performers in the world. The hoop dance symbolizes a sacred part of Native American life, and represents the circle of life. Dancers will add and weave the hoops through various formations throughout the dance representing our journey through life.
Moontee Sinquah, the two-time World Champion Hopi Hoop Dancer, will displays his athleticism and artistry with his powerful performance. Sinquah uses the hoop dance to create beautiful shapes and formations that tells a powerful story that you won’t want to miss.
