The Summer Heats Up with Parks & Recreations
As the summer heats up, the Fountain Hills Parks and Recreation team is ready to help you and your family cool off this summer. From Wacky Wet Wednesdays to the Annual Family Tubing Trip down the Salt River, there will be a variety of family friendly activities and events to get your summer started on the right foot. Here is a sneak peek at the amazing activities planned this summer:
Kids Summer Camp
The Fountain Hills Youth Summer Camp is back for its second year! Summer camp will be held at the Fountain Hills Middle School Gymnasium from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. There will be two sessions held on June 11 to 15, and July 16 to 20, and each one is a week-long.
The camp is open to campers between the ages of 6 to 12 years old. Campers will get to experience a variety of activities from daily team building and self-development exercises to crafts, sports, and a whole variety of field trips including a movie with popcorn and a trip to AZ Air Time. The registration fee is $150.
Wild & Wacky Games and Sports
This program puts a spin on traditional sports and games for preschoolers. Your children will play wacky games and sports, but most importantly, they will have fun! Children will learn teamwork, socialization, and motor skill development. The program begins on April 24th and runs through May 29th on Tuesdays from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at the Community Center. Registration is $45, and children must be between the ages of 3 to 5.
Wacky Wet Wednesdays
Come on over to Four Peaks Park and enjoy some fun in the sun. Bring the family to have a good time splashing around in the sprinklers and being sprayed by the Fountain Hills Fire Department. This is a great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon to cool down and enjoy the beautiful outdoors in Four Peaks Park on June 27th, July 11th, and August 1st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Off the Wall Sports
School may be out, but you can play all your favorite Physical Education games! Participants in this program will be able to play in organized games such as Sprout Ball, Gaga Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball, and many more each Tuesday from June 5th through July 31st at Fountain Hills Middle School from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The Fountain Hills Park and Recreation team has got you covered this summer. Their programs are first-come-first-served, and registration fills fast. For more information on the upcoming summer activities, check out www.fh.az.gov/recreation.
